Me, my two brothers, and my mom were in Germany with my dad while he was stationed there from 68-71 with the US Army (I was born in 1969, the youngest of the family). Before returning stateside my parents purchased a grandfather clock and several old wall clocks with pendulums (the kind you have to wind up with a special key every day). I do not remember my first and only incident with the grandfather clock, but my mom tells me that when our family returned stateside and the movers were there and our household goods were being unpacked, that I became scared. I was around a year and a half old at the time but I could speak well enough to convey my meaning to my mom, something on the order of me having seen an elderly man step out of the grandfather clock and then vanish before my eyes.

One rainy day in my friend's living room, we had nothing else to do, so we brought out the board.  We did the usual "If you are there, give us a sign ".  At that point my friend's huge grandfather clock starts chiming, and we all jumped out of our skins, and then immediately started laughing hysterically at how much it had scared us.  Until I noticed that is was 11:40, and the clock only chimed on the hour.
